Respimat - Getting Started with your Inhaler
3D modeling & animation, motion GFX & compositing, VO, sound design & mix / Agency: Evoke Health
A picture’s worth a thousand words, they say, but when it comes to the instructions for a complicated medical device sometimes you need more than just a picture. In the case of the Respimat Inhaler MUCH more was needed - in fact, a long-form, fully 3D-animated video was necessary. When Evoke Health put this concept together and was faced with executing it they turned to the best team for the job - us!
At the start, a few dummy inhalers were shipped to us so we could see them, feel them, and most importantly take them apart to see what made them work. We couldn’t very well recreate a comprehensive detailed 3D model of the device and all it’s inner working parts without destroying one or two. Turned out it was a noble sacrifice for the greater good.
The Getting Started with your Inhaler long-form instructional video depended on a thorough visualized explanation of the inhaler, it’s parts, how it works, and most critically, how to use it. Over the course of the 7+ minutes of the video we showcase the inhaler from just about every angle - flipping, twisting, pressing, and even disassembling it as we go. We walk the patient through an easy-to-follow step-by-step instruction on how to prepare and prime the device, use it on a daily basis, and even clean the device for proper storage. All while never breaking focus on the device itself, and all in 3D. While the inhaler is a photo-real 3D model, supporting elements are slightly more abstract, so that there are no obstructions and every single step is as clear as possible.
A warm and friendly voice over and music bed tie the whole thing together and make the Respimat - Getting Started with your Inhaler video an easy and informative watch.
